Store and account region

Whether you can find and purchase Shadowrocket depends first on the country or region of the Apple ID used for the App Store. Shadowrocket isn't available on the mainland China App Store, so searching there won't bring up the product. The button on this page links to Shadowrocket's US product page. Being able to view that page in a browser doesn't mean your signed-in account is eligible to buy it; once you open the App Store, check which storefront your account actually uses.

Your account region isn't your device's current location or its system language. A Chinese-language interface doesn't mean your account uses the mainland China storefront, and a US App Store URL won't change your account region. Before purchasing, check the account signed in to Media & Purchases rather than relying only on the account name at the top of Settings. If you've used different accounts for purchases on this device, make sure the current purchase account matches the one used for your original purchase.

Check in Settings

  1. Open Settings and tap your Apple ID account at the top.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. Follow the prompts if verification is required.
  3. Open Country/Region to see the storefront for your account.
  4. If you need to change it, select Change Country or Region on that page and review each requirement shown by Apple.

Changing your region may affect your account balance, existing subscriptions, Family Sharing, and payment method. Take care of any items listed by the system before proceeding; check the account page for the requirements that apply at the time. This process helps you review and manage your own account; not every account can change regions immediately. Don't skip the requirements just to view the product page, and don't keep switching accounts before confirming which one made the original purchase.

If the store says “This app is not available in your country or region,” follow the steps above to check your region, then verify the product name and app ID. If the message says payment wasn't completed, troubleshoot the payment. If it says your device isn't compatible, check compatibility. Reviewing the store region, payment requirements, and device system separately is usually more useful than repeatedly tapping the purchase button.

Developer, icon, and app ID

Check three details together to verify the listing: the developer name, official icon, and app ID. Search results with similar names may also have similar text or graphics, so the words “Shadowrocket” alone aren't enough to verify the app. Open the product page and confirm the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Then compare its icon with the official icon below and make sure the product URL contains app ID 932747118.

Official Shadowrocket icon: a rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background

Shadowrocket

Shadow Launch Technology Limited
id932747118

The official icon shows a rocket with a blue-purple outline on a white background. Compare the full design and colors, not just the presence of a rocket; similar-looking icons must still be checked against the developer name and app ID. The app ID is the number immediately after id in the product URL. The official store link on this page uses id932747118. If any detail differs from the listing you opened, return to the correct product page and check again rather than assuming a similarly named app is the same purchase.

Before purchasing, review the App Store listing's compatibility, price, and app description. Check the store's update history for product maintenance information; this page doesn't specify a version or update date. The goal is to confirm the product and purchase requirements, not to infer device compatibility from screenshot details. Refer to the App Store product page for compatibility.

Screenshots of the installed app

These two official English screenshots were uploaded by the developer to the App Store. They show Home and Add Server. Home displays Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER section; Add Server shows fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method. Use the screenshots to locate controls, not to replace the three checks for verifying the product. The installed app's interface may vary with updates, device size, and language settings, so follow what appears on your device.

Install and open Shadowrocket on iPhone

On your iPhone, open the App Store product page linked from this page and verify the three identifying details. Then check the compatibility information for your device; refer to the App Store page for system requirements. If your device is compatible, purchase the app and complete verification with your Apple ID. Wait for the App Store installation to finish, then open Shadowrocket from the Home Screen. If you see a cloud icon to download the app again, first confirm it's in your purchase history; you don't need to repeat the purchase process.

Before using Home for the first time, have your existing subscription or server details ready. Buying the app gets you the client; it doesn't automatically add a service to the SERVER list. Import an existing subscription using the Subscribe option, or enter individual server details under Add Server using Type and the relevant fields. Don't enter your App Store purchase credentials or account password in server fields; your app purchase account and connection details serve different purposes.

About VPN configuration permission

The first time you connect, your device may ask whether to allow Shadowrocket to add a VPN configuration. This permission lets the app establish a system network connection; it isn't another app purchase. Check the app name in the system prompt and follow the instructions to confirm. Your device may ask for your passcode or biometric verification. If you cancel, start the connection again from the app and check the related configuration in your device's VPN settings.

Granting permission doesn't mean the server is ready to use. Select a server you've imported, choose a Config, Proxy, or Direct option in Global Routing that suits your needs, and check the connection status on Home. Connectivity Test can help you check the connection, but a single test result doesn't confirm that every request is handled as expected. If you still can't access the content you need, check your existing server details, rules, and network conditions rather than immediately reinstalling the app or purchasing it again.

We recommend handling app acquisition, configuration import, connection, and result checks as four separate steps. Confirm each one before moving on to make it easier to identify whether an issue is with the store, system permission, or connection settings. For detailed import and testing steps, see Getting Started. For how Global Routing works with rules, see Configuration Fields.

Install on iPad and check compatibility

Shadowrocket works on both iPhone and iPad: after purchasing with an Apple ID, you can install it on either device from your purchase history. On your iPad, first check the account used for purchases in the App Store, then look for Shadowrocket. Refer to the App Store product page for system requirements. If you purchased the app on your iPhone but the iPad still shows a price, check that both devices use the same account for Media & Purchases. Being signed in to the same cloud account on both devices doesn't necessarily mean the purchase accounts match.

On iPad, the wider screen and portrait or landscape orientation may change the layout of lists and editing areas. Follow the controls as they appear in the app. Key interface labels include Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings; a wider layout doesn't mean you need to purchase the app again or reassess the protocol type. The official screenshots are visual references, and controls don't have to appear in exactly the same places on iPad.

After installing on a second device, check separately whether your server details and configuration have been restored. A purchase record confirms your app entitlement; it doesn't mean your subscription has been imported. Even if both devices use the same purchase account, check the selected server, Global Routing, and system VPN permission on each one. If you restore from an existing backup, confirm that its contents are suitable for the current device before testing the connection.

Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. If you plan to use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check the product page on that device for compatibility and purchase details. Refer to the App Store page for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. The app is available through the App Store; compatibility on iPhone doesn't guarantee it will work on another device.

Input methods and layout may differ between devices. This page focuses on purchasing and first opening the app on iPhone and iPad. For other devices, check App Store compatibility first, then configure the app using the labels shown on that device. If the store says the app can't be installed, start by checking compatibility and account requirements rather than treating it as a server or routing-rule issue.

Move to a new device and restore purchases

After getting a new device or reinstalling the app, sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase and download Shadowrocket again from Purchased in the App Store at no extra cost. Purchases are tied to the account used for the transaction, not just stored on the old device. First confirm the original account, then check which purchase account is signed in on the new device. If you still have the old device, check its App Store account information and purchase history to make it easier to find the app on the new one.

  1. On your new device, open the App Store and tap the account icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Open Purchased. If the interface uses a different label, look for the list of app purchases under your account.
  3. Search for Shadowrocket, check its icon and name, then tap the cloud icon to download it again.
  4. Once installation is complete, open the app, import your existing subscription or server details, and check your configuration and connection permissions.

If Shadowrocket isn't listed under Purchased, first check that the original purchase was completed, that you're using the right purchase account, and whether the account's region has changed. Your purchase history can confirm which account made the transaction. The ability to download again may also depend on your current region and product availability. Don't assume a temporarily missing listing means you need to buy the app again, and don't submit another payment before checking your purchase history.

Check app restoration and configuration restoration separately

Downloading the app again restores the client only. Restore server details and configuration files from your own backup. If your existing details are still available in your service account, import your existing subscription again. If you use manually entered server details, check Host, Port, and the fields for the relevant protocol. After restoring, check the selected server, Config file, and Global Routing, then verify system VPN permission and connection status.

Don't assume an old configuration is fully usable on a new device just because it worked before. Addresses, authentication details, certificate settings, and service status may all need to be checked again. Change one thing at a time while troubleshooting, and keep your original details. Before sharing diagnostic information, remove passwords, credentials embedded in subscription URLs, and other personal data.

Family Sharing and redownloading with your original purchase account are different situations. Check the App Store product page and your Apple Family Sharing settings to see whether Family Sharing is supported and what conditions apply. Universal purchase doesn't necessarily mean every family member can install the app directly. Check the purchase details shown on your account page alongside the product listing.

Price, one-time purchase, and service details

Shadowrocket is a one-time purchase. The US storefront reference price is $2.99; other storefronts show local currency, and actual pricing is listed on the App Store product page. The app is purchased once, with no recurring monthly app fee. Before paying, review the amount, account, and purchase details on the current product page and system confirmation. Use the information shown for your transaction, not a reference price from another storefront.

Purchasing the app gives you the client; your own service details determine the connection destination and authentication. Manage them separately: the App Store handles the app transaction and purchase history, while your service account holds your existing subscription or server details. If the app is installed but the SERVER list is empty, import your existing details. If a server appears in the list but won't connect, check that the details are valid and review the configuration rather than buying the app again.

After payment, get app updates through the App Store. You can manage automatic updates in your device settings or check for available updates from your App Store account page. Keep your important configuration and server details before updating, then check the in-app settings afterward. Check the App Store product page for the current version, update history, and system requirements; this page doesn't rely on a specific version or date as a lasting installation reference.

If a download stops, first check your network connection and available storage, then review the specific App Store message. If payment is pending, check your purchase history and payment status. App downloads, purchase processing, and server connections are separate steps; identify which one the prompt refers to before troubleshooting. Your purchase receipt stays in your account. You don't need to provide your account password as configuration data when troubleshooting a connection.

If you've already purchased Shadowrocket, follow the restore instructions on this page. If you're purchasing it for the first time, return to the top and open the same App Store product page. For post-install setup, see Getting Started; for common interface terms, see Quick Reference. This page recommends verifying the listing and purchase details before importing your existing information.

Download and purchase FAQ

Check the App Store message first, then identify whether the issue is with your account, device, or configuration.

Can't find Shadowrocket on the App Store? Check this first

First check the country or region of the Apple ID used for Media & Purchases. Shadowrocket isn't available on the mainland China App Store, and viewing the US product page doesn't mean your current account can purchase it. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Whether you can change it depends on Apple's account requirements.

The App Store opens, but Shadowrocket won't download. What should I check?

Follow the App Store prompts to check your account region, payment method, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. Refer to the App Store product page for system requirements. If you've already paid, check your account's purchase history and Purchased items before deciding whether to download again.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone?

Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased, and download it again at no extra cost. Restoring the app doesn't restore its configuration. Import your existing subscription or server details on the new device, then check the active configuration.

Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad after purchasing it?

You can install Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad using the purchase history for the same Apple ID. On your iPad, first check which account is signed in to the App Store, then download the app from Purchased. Refer to the App Store product page for system requirements.

Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the product page on your target device for system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. The App Store remains the place to get the app.

The official screenshots are in English. How do I follow along the first time I open the app?

This page uses the English screenshots uploaded by the developer to the App Store. Match the steps to interface labels such as Home, Global Routing, and Add Server, then refer to the Getting Started guide for explanations. The app's language, layout, and available settings may vary; check what appears on your device.
